Start Here
Welcome to Ember Risen. I’m glad you’re here.
If you’re new, this page will help you understand what this space is, what I write about, and where to begin.

Who I Am
I’m Jessica Boots — a writer, mother, and music-maker learning to live with my whole heart awake. Ember Risen is where I share the stories I once carried quietly: stories of healing, faith, motherhood, trauma recovery, creativity, and the slow, steady work of becoming.
I also create companion songs under the name Lena Rowan — a pseudonym I use for the part of me that writes in sound. Some truths need melody.
What Ember Risen Is
Ember Risen is a creative and spiritual project built around five pillars:
- Becoming
Awakening, identity, transformation, rising after disappearing. - Faith
Mercy, trust, spiritual clarity, divine timing. - Motherhood
Love, exhaustion, longing, identity, the weight and wonder of raising a child. - Healing
Trauma recovery, emotional clarity, boundaries, gaslighting, the slow return to yourself. - Creativity
Writing, music, inspiration, creative fire, artistic identity.
Everything I write lives inside one of these pillars.
Where to Begin
If you’re new, here are a few posts that offer a clear doorway into my work:

Becoming
•The Night My Dreams Became a Threat
•The Quiet Return of Myself
•The Moment Before I Burst

Motherhood
•The Part I’m Allowed to Have
•The More I’m Becoming
•The Song That Finally Said What I’ve Been Carrying
These posts will give you a sense of my voice, my story, and the heart behind Ember Risen.
How Music Fits In
Some posts have companion songs — pieces written under my music name, Lena Rowan. They aren’t polished studio tracks; they’re emotional echoes, small offerings from the same place the writing comes from.
If a post has a song, you’ll find it linked at the end.
A Note About My Story
I write honestly — but I write safely.
I don’t name people. I don’t expose identities. I don’t write to accuse. I write to heal.
If you’re here because you’re carrying your own story, I hope you find something that feels like recognition, something that feels like breath, something that reminds you that you matter.
