Music by Lena Rowan
I’ve been writing in quiet rooms for a long time — places where the light comes in soft, where the truth doesn’t have to raise its voice to be heard. Some parts of me don’t stay on the page. Some feelings ask to be sung.
That voice is Lena Rowan.
I chose the name Lena to honor my dad — the person who first opened the door to music for me, who taught me how song can hold a feeling when words fall short. Lena Horne was one of his favorite artists. Rowan carries the symbolism of resilience and renewal.
Under that name, I create small companion pieces that sit alongside the essays of Ember Risen. They’re meant to deepen the feeling of the writing — to offer another way into the story. Some songs are soft and reflective, some carry a little fire, but all rise from the same place as the words: the slow work of becoming, healing, mothering, believing, and creating.

About the Music
I write slowly and intentionally. Songs arrive the same way the writing does — gently, honestly, and without rush. I use AI as a creative tool to help shape those feelings into lyrics and melodies. The technology doesn’t replace the emotion; it helps me translate it into something I can hold, something I can share.
These songs were born from thin‑breath nights, heavy rooms, small victories, and the moments I finally let myself be held. They’re not polished stories — they’re lived ones.
If you’ve ever felt too tired, too tender, too much, or not enough — you’re welcome here.
If you’ve ever carried more weight than anyone saw — you’re welcome here.
If you’re rising slowly, or rising again, or rising for the first time — you’re welcome here.
This is the music side of the same heart.
Held. Seen. Rising.
